Product Specification

All our traces are hand-made in the UK using only top quality components. All traces are designed to the very highest of industry standards and with the conservation and welfare of the pike in mind and are approved by The Pike Anglers' Club of Great Britain.

Traces length

All traces are a min. 18 inches (46cm) long. Uptraces are a min. 22 inches (56cm) long. Please note that when using an uptrace, the snaptackle should always be at least 3 inches shorter than the uptrace. If you use traces longer than 18 inches, let us know and we will make uptraces to suit your requirement.

Wire

We only use the very best quality wires and have selected our 4 main wire types from the many wires available. When selecting wires we consider many factors, not least it's reliability and resistance to kinking and strength.

Brown - 45lb 7 strand non-coated stainless steel

Black - 33lb 7 strand stainless steel, nylon coated

Green - 30lb 7 strand stainless steel, nylon coated

Red - 30lb 7 strand stainless steel, nylon coated

Hooks

Our range of hooks have been selected from many types available. We only use top quality hooks which have been rigorously tested and field tested prior to selection. Not only do we consider the strength of hooks in our design process but we also take into account the properties of the hook when placed under pressure. Our hooks not only give the required strength our rigs need but are also designed to bend when under extreme pressure to free the rigs from snags. This increass the chances of retreiving a trace when snagged up or if the pike snaggs itself to an object during playing. In the interests of easy unhooking and pike welfare, we only use semi-barbless trebles across our whole range, micro-barbed single hooks on our single hook hair rigs and semi-barbed or barbless on single hook rigs.

Trebles- Sizes 4, 6 and 8 top quality nickel plated steel, semi-barbless ( only one of the prongs has a barb on it for securing the bait, the other two have no barb)

Single Hooks - Sizes 2, 4 and 6 ESP Raptor D-Ring, micro-barbed

Crimps

We only use top quality soft carbon crimps with all top (mid) trebles securly crimped using a seperate length of wire with wire passing through the eye of the hook for extra security. Our crimps are the very best available and are perfectly designed to give a reliable, firm fixing with no risk of damage to the wire during the manufacturing stage. We only recommend the use of crimping pliers with a cerated edge, e.g. Fox, PredX or Greys Prowla.

Swivels

We only use top quality black nickel rolling swivels size 2 or 3 designed to 70lb bs 

Cross-lock Swivels 

All our Lure traces and Uptraces are fitted with top quality black nickel Cross-Lock snaps, size 2 70lb bs. These ensure not only a strong connection but also the ability to quickly and easily change rigs, plugs and lures.
